Around the office, we're feeling the SXSW hangover. Our jam-packed week in Austin was nothing short of wonderful, but as sunburns fade and our iTunes continues to process all our new music finds, exhaustion is setting in. Philadelphia singer/songwriter Denison Witmer will be hitting the studio this spring to record a new album. Witmer will be recording in Seattle, Wash., beginning at London Bridge Studios and ending at Studio Litho. Witmer’s friend and producer Blake Wescott will return, and frequent collaborators Rosie Thomas and James McAlister will be contributing as well. Witmer’s last album, Are You A Dreamer?, was released in 2005, and the troubadour has been busy touring and producing since. He has shared the stage with Billy Bragg, Iron and Wine, Sufjan Stevens and Lovedrug. He and Stevens also co-produced Thomas’s 2006 EP These Friends... read more

Since his 30th birthday on November 4, the Philadelphia folk musician with the silky voice and permanent 5 O’clock shadow has been offering 30 free tracks through his website, all of which are new recordings consisting of previously released songs, covers and new offerings as well.
