Eight years after Duran Duran's reunion (and consequential big, fat '80s-sized comeback tour in 2004), the group has hit the studio again. The "Fab Five" announced plans for an upcoming album in collaboration with producer Mark Ronson, whose magic touch has graced the albums of Lily Allen, Amy Winehouse, Adele, the Kaiser Chiefs and Outkast....  read more

Duran Duran perform first pop concert at the Louvre

If the Mona Lisa had not been the coy subject of a 16th century painting, but rather a teenage girl in the early-to-mid '80s, she would be, like, so totally psyched right now....  read more

Duran Duran announces North American tour

It should come as no surprise that the '80s are chic again, what with the revival of suspenders, gravity-defying hairdos, and a surge in popularity of the music of the "Me Decade." So it's not exactly shocking that one of the decade’s most popular bands, Duran Duran, is going on tour this spring. For those that missed it, Duran Duran’s latest release, Red Carpet Massacre, arrived last year. Original guitarist Andy Taylor left the band but, in his stead, Massacre features production work from Timbaland and Justin Timberlake, proving the band still knows how to put together really good pop...  read more

[Above: Durandy and a small portion of his collection] Ask Andrew Golub (his friends call him Durandy) anything about Duran Duran's history, and chances are that the 36-year-old Seattle native has a piece of memorabilia to match up with the question. Golub's collection, amassed since 1984, consists of thousands of Duran Duran albums, books, tour programs, magazines and more. Golub's, in fact, is the largest collection of Duran Duran posters in the world, many of which the band members themselves claim to have never before seen. Although Golub's extensive online fanography contains countless images of his prized possessions, he says...  read more

Duran Duran plans nine-day Massacre of NYC

Duran Duran sure knows how to launch an album. Even if you're not a fan of the group's infectious pop and (now aging) good looks, its hard to deny its media savvy. While some folks will no doubt view attempts at eternal hipness as shallow and desperate (including the band working with Timbaland and Justin Timberlake), true fans of the group (including this writer) thrive on the band's consistent, yet ever-evolving sound (an intentional mix of Roxy Music, The Sex Pistols and Chic), and frequent live shows, which still somehow manage to sell out world-class arenas. Following the current trend...  read more
