Well, I’ll be honest. Up until the last 10 minutes of this episode (and still, even then), things were looking bleak in our favorite Texas town. Halfway through our final Friday Night Lights season, everyone — everyone — in Dillon is in trouble.... read more

So the title of this week’s episode is “Keep Looking,” and I’m assuming that the writers are using that metaphorically because at the episode’s onset, everywhere we turn, the kind folks of Dillon still haven’t found what they’re looking for.... read more

There are many incredible things about Friday Night Lights. You’ll no doubt read all about them throughout my recaps this season. TV has never been worse with an over-reliance on reality shows that seem to be in a race to sink as low as possible. But it's also never been better with more and more networks investing in original well-scripted, cinematic series and sitcoms that don't depend on tired gags and canned laughter. read more

Richmond Riedel has worked the editing bay with directorial greats like Michael Mann, Peter Berg, and many others. One of those scripts eventually became Charades (1998), starring Erica Eleniak and Karen Black. This year Riedel finally took the leap into becoming a feature film director himself, and after a great festival run his film Target Practice hits DVD this week. Riedel took some time to talk to Paste about Friday Night Lights (the film and the TV show), editing with Berg and Mann,... read more
