SoCo Music Experience: Atlanta

The Southern Comfort Music Experience (SCMX) is making its way around the country and Paste is on board to provide a firsthand account of the goings on. Centennial Olympic Park in downtown Atlanta served as the kick-off venue for this year’s SCMX series. Ghostland Observatory readies for tour, new album

Electro-rock outfit Ghostland Observatory is ready to release its third LP, Robotique Majestique, on Feb. 23., and to celebrate, the band has lined up a few live dates. And much like the lovechild of The White Stripes and The Rapture, Ghostland will let you groove to the big beat before leveling you with a massive chorus. Ghostland Observatory takes it to the Austin City Limits

Usually, PBS' Austin City Limits series inspires images of restrained gentility: Patty Griffin performing a spare acoustic set, Norah Jones tickling the ivories, or Wilco its thing. But occasionally, the organizers will throw viewers a curveball. Grindin', dirty electronic duo Ghostland Observatory certainly doesn't confirm to the Austin City Limits stereotype, but such exceptions to the rule are just what makes the series great.
