Twenty Must-See Films at SXSW 2012
Is it possible that there are really 20 must-see films in a film festival that lasts less than a week? It's very possible if that festival is SXSW, one of Paste's favorite weeks of the year. As you might expect, given the festival's and our special interest in music, there are quite a few music documentaries on the list. But there's something here for everyone. read more

Dunham became one of the top up-and-coming comediennes with her breakthrough writing/directing/acting effort _Tiny Furniture_ and Apatow focused less on male-centered comedies my producing this summer’s hit comedy _Bridesmaids_. With _Girls_ the two combine to create a new comedy for HBO. read more

Today we narrow that in to particular songs. One thing I noticed filling out my own ballot was that while I tend to shy away from glossier pop, I’m still a sucker for a good hook and a joyful chorus. Christopher Owens, frontman of the psychedelic indie-pop group Girls, will release a special single on Dec. 6, both digitally and as a red, heart-shaped 7-inch vinyl. The song, entitled "Lawrence," is Owens' personal tribute to English musician Lawrence, the leader of Felt, Denim and Go Kart Mozart. read more

As the New York Times points out, Girls has a new video for "Honey Bunny." It features Christopher Owens is looking like he’s living the rock star life: he cruises for girls (the people, not the band) in a sports car while wearing some half-t-shirt thing that easily could have been pulled from Axl Rose’s closet. And this all happens before he finds his “girl,” a blonde-haired jean-jacket wearing lady that appears to really like him. The video was directed by Girls’ Chet “JR” White. read more
