Different Songs With The Same Names
There are a lot of songs out there—every artist runs the risk of doubling up on a title or two. Here are some of our favorite songs with the same titles. As you read this list, my fellow editor Steve is writing a song called "Stairway to Heaven" for his band Attractive Eighties Women. And it's not a cover.... read more

We all know that submitting work for review can be nerve-wracking. But when the people judging the work are some of the best in the field, well, that's a whole different story. Such is the case at the Independent Music Awards, a contest for songwriter hopefuls.... read more

Earlier this month, when it was announced that Tinted Windows—an ostensibly-super-group featuring Fountains of Wayne's Adam Schlesinger, The Smashing Pumpkins' James Iha, Cheap Trick's Bun E. Found in: A/VRadio station plays Hanson prank
Last month, Chicago alt-rock station WKQX (Q101) played a song called “The Great Divide” by “a mystery artist.” It quickly became one of the station’s most requested songs and was put in heavy rotation. A DJ announced three weeks later that the band in question was Hanson. The moral of the story? For some reason, Hanson got a bad rap after “MMMBop,” but it’s actually a great band. The other moral of the story? Pranks are FUN. Hanson is getting ready for a tour in support of their new album The Walk. Related links: Hanson.net Hanson on MySpace Q101.com Got... read more
