A Bit More of Fry & Laurie Coming This Autumn

A Bit More of <em>Fry & Laurie</em> Coming This Autumn

Most folks know Hugh Laurie for his portrayal of grumpy-but-somehow-lovable Dr. Gregory House. The role, now in its sixth season, has won him two Golden Globe awards and two Screen Actors Guild awards for outstanding acting. But long before he was a cantankerous doctor proving that lupus is never the answer, the British (yes, British!) actor was a popular comedian who did a lot of work with all-around funny guy Stephen Fry....  read more

Indie Dark Comedy The Oranges Announces Full Cast

Indie Dark Comedy <em>The Oranges</em> Announces Full Cast

The Oranges, a new dark comedy about a young guy from the suburbs who falls in love with the daughter of family friends, only to watch her fall in love with her parents’ older male friend, had an interesting journey from script to screen. When it first reached the desks of movie execs back in 2008, every studio passed on it. Then it appeared at the top of last year’s Black List, a ranking of the best unmade scripts from the previous year. Olympus Pictures picked up the film, and it’s now in production....  read more

Fall Guide to Good TV: <em>House M.D.</em>

Mondays at 8 p.m. on FoxEver since that chopper came crashing down on ER’s Rocket Romano, we’ve relied on Hugh Laurie’s House to fill that lovably crotchety doctor void. House Review: "The Tyrant" (Episode 6.3)

<em>House</em> Review: "The Tyrant" (Episode 6.3)

House returns to Princeton, where Taub has quit and Foreman has fired Thirteen. So the old regulars -- Chase and Cameron -- come back to their jobs and are under Foreman's supervision. (As House says, "It's three years ago! Does that mean I'm still crazy?") The difference is that now that House is no longer licensed to practice medicine, he too has become Foreman's employee. Unsurprisingly, he does not take well to the change and makes Foreman's job difficult. What is surprising is that Foreman, frustrated over his problems with Thirteen, refuses to humor House and eventually, satisfyingly, stands up to him....  read more
