This week, Brooklyn-based power trio We Barbarians release their latest EP, Mexico, NY. The album’s significance, however, goes far beyond it being their lastest collection of songs to be pressed to vinyl. On October 29 of last year, the band’s Greenpoint storage space was ravaged by Hurricane Sandy. It was a space they shared with the bands Delta Spirit and Cults, but while those two bands were out on tour, We Barbarians were in New York, as was what frontman David Quon estimates was $45,000 worth of instruments and equipment they had accumulated over 10 years.
