The Shins Reveal Fourth Album Details
Since the Shins last album in 2007 James Mercer left Sub Pop, started his own label and shuffled up the band’s lineup. Last August the band announced they would release an album sometime in 2012, but no further details were released. read more

As if having Carrie Brownstein (formerly of Sleater-Kinney and now Wild Flag) acting in and writing Portlandia wasn't good enough, now we have word that Johnny Marr is on board to be in Season 2 of the IFC comedy show. According to the New York Magazine, Marr, the lead guitarist of bands like The Smiths, Modest Mouse, and The Cribs, will be playing a character that is "non-musical" and "some kind of ambiguous hybrid of himself and a character." read more
