Johnny Depp a director away from filming Rex Mundi

Way back in the year 2006, Johnny Depp bought up the rights to the Dark Horse comic Rex Mundi, which takes place in an alternate universe set in the 1930s where Martin Luther was assassinated before instigating the reformation. MTV is now reporting that the project is finally getting closer to completion, with its screenwriter Jim Uhls (Fight Club) about to turn in a second draft.
