After the interview, Colbert placed a copy of R.E.M.’s newest compilation on his shelf to commemorate the recently broken up band. But then Colbert went on to place R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe on his shelf as well, as Stipe, Colbert and Eno went on to all sing a rendition of “Lean on Me” together.
