Monsters of Folk "The Right Place" Video (Awesome of the Day)

There's something gimmicky about most super-groups, but Monsters of Folk just seems like a really stacked band. The only gimmick was the rule that only Jim James, Conor Oberst, M. Ward and Mike Mogis would play on the self-titled record, which came out today. They take turns singing and playing drums, bass, piano and guitars, and the whole thing comes across as four of our generation's greatest talents having a really good time creatively. 16 Albums To Look Forward To This Fall

We've already shared 25 Indie Films we're looking forward to this fall, but here are 16 albums coming out between now and the end of October that we think you should track down. It's been a little more than a year since we first brought you news of the Monsters of Folk, the (probably) satirically-named supergroup of Bright Eyes' Conor Oberst and Mike Mogis, My Morning Jacket's Jim James, and M. Ward of She & Him/M. Ward fame. Now that their debut album is nearing release, the quartet will hit the road this fall for an international tour with a philanthropic bent....  read more
