The band whose latest effort, Here’s to Taking it Easy, made three Paste staffers’ Best Music of 2010 top 10 lists had its van stolen after a show at Pier 54 in New York City last night. According to an update from Phosphorescent’s label, Dead Oceans, frontman Matthew Houck’s custom 1955 Gibson ES-125 guitar in addition to his vintage amplifiers, vintage pedal steel and all of the band’s merchandise were in the van. All in all, Phosphorescent’s losses come to about $40,000....  read more
