Oren Moverman, the writer behind Dylan biopic I’m Not There and Ira Sachs’ Married Life, is debuting his directorial skills on the film The Messenger. He co-wrote the screenplay with Alessandro Camon.
Ben Foster will play the lead male role, and Jena Malone and Eamonn Walker have been signed up since the get-go. Woody Harrelson and Samantha Morton have recently joined on as well.
The film is so far well under wraps, and all we know about the plot is that it focuses on the ethical dilemmas an American soldier has to deal with as he falls in love with a fallen soldier’s widow.
Principal photography is set to begin on May 20, and the film will be much publicized at this month’s Cannes Film Festival.
