PaMaDoCoBloNaBloPoMoMo 2008, Day 19: No Pasa Nada, Oh! How Lovely! and Pretty Little Mess get it
After Monday's midterm report and Tuesday's TV rant, I'm fitting three days of NaBloPoMo blogroll perusal into one post today, offering up an "N," "O" and "P" title each as further proof of the existence of non-tedious personal blogs. So, No Pasa Nada, Oh! How Lovely! and Pretty Little Mess, congratulations: You get it. (Speaking of "getting it," here's an introduction to PaMaDoCoBloNaBloPoMoMo. Apparently this acronym has brain-exploding powers. Sorry, brains!)... read more

TV heaven got a bit more cramped last week as NBC announced the cancellation of two of its prime-time dramas: My Own Worst Enemy, starring Christian Slater as a double-life-leading former CIA agent, and Lipstick Jungle, starring Brooke Shields, Kim Raver and Lindsay Price as rich white women making bad choices in the Big Apple. Having never seen an episode of My Own Worst Enemy, I can only attest to the quality of Lipstick Jungle (and read on, I will), but by now we should all know that even the best showssnagged enough viewers to stave off the executioners blow... read more

Seventeen days ago, I threw myself headlong into my very first NaBloPoMo with a few specific goals in mind. First of all, I wanted to prove to myself that I could, indeed, write one blog post per day for thirty days straight. You wouldn't know this, of course, but in an admittedly nutty I way I like staging competitions against myself. And this one seemed considerably more fun than the other battles I've waged against myself in my time, like Don't Take Your Leftovers Out Of The Microwave Until The Timer Beeps and Don't Go Out To Eat All September and... read more

Of all the varieties of ersatz ephemera making headway in an increasingly digitalized music industry, the gig poster has recently emerged as my favorite. More often crafted as an artistic pursuit rather than actual show promotion, there are a slew of talented poster artists and studios turning out artful, frame-worthy memorabilia these days. ... read more

Mari, author of M Hates NYC, today's "M"-named blog, is a twenty-something newlywed slogging through life in New York City, a town that she hates mostly for reasons difficult to discern upon initially visiting her blog. Except one: Bed bugs!... read more

Leannderthal is a blog that makes me wish my name was Leann so I could name my own blog Leannderthal. This is all assuming that, as a Leann, and not as a Rachael, I would think of calling my blog Leannderthal before this particular Leann thought to call hers the same. And this is shaping up to involve more than a little uber-hypothetical time travel, which is a bit too much to ask of a Friday afternoon, so let's just drop it.... read more

Starting on Jan. 11, 2008, her 49th birthday, Kathy G. from Missouri decided that she was going to do one new thing every day. On top of that, she was going to blog about it. So NaBloPoMo has been a total breeze for her, I'm sure. (As for me, I am growing weary. PaMaDoCoBloNaBloPoMoMo is feeling about as long as its ludicrous acronym.)... read more

My Official PaMaDoCoBloNaBloPoMoMo 2008 Calendar tells me I'm supposed to be going on about some "K"-named blog or another today, but you know what I just told My Official PaMaDoCoBloNaBloPoMoMo 2008 Calendar? "Shove it, I am going to post about this Troll 2 and Radiohead mashup video I just saw on Videogum instead," is what I told it. And tell me this isn't worth it, my friends. ... read more

As a blog, Jarod and Liz is nice. As a couple, Jarod and Liz are nice. I'm not sure which grammatical convention to use here, but either way, these folks' blogness and their coupleness are one in the same: Each half of the duo gets a column on their website to fill with their own thoughts, links and photos, tagged "boythings" and "girlthings" respectively.... read more
