Every year after the Oscar nominees for Best Picture are announced, people flood the interwebs with their parodies of the films. This year, not only is there an incredible lineup competing for Best Picture, but there are also some incredible parodies. Our favorite so far comes from Alex Eylar (via Defamer). Alex has melded his love of film with his love of Legos, and the result are hilarious recreations of some of the most intense scenes in each of 2010’s best-picture contenders (notice the small yellow arm in third image). Charis Tsevis of Tsevis Visual Design is a designer living in the Athens, Greece. He uses a variety of approaches and techniques in his work, including Gestalt theory, futurism and cubism. Particularly noteworthy are his mosaics comprised of extremely tiny photographs, that when shrunk and placed next to hundreds of similar photographs, create the illusion of a full shape. When zoomed in, though, you can see the minute details involved in the image. For example, take a look at the Steve Jobs mosaic and notice the features of his face are made up of Apple mouses, laptops, iPhones, etc.... read more
