It's always frustrating when there are two really important television events are happening at the same time and you don't have one of those cool TVs from the '90s with the screen-within-a-screen. I hear they've come out with something called a "DVR" for these situations, but I don't think it would even be compatible with the ancient television my wife and I inherited from her grandmother several years ago. As an introduction to what may be both the first ever and last ever post on PasteMagazine.com about MTV's The Hills, I feel I should offer some kind of explanation as to why, exactly, I watch this show.
