Diane Kruger and Til Schweiger are also Inglorious Bastards
The Hollywood Reporter has listed the latest round of updates for Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards. First up is Diane Kruger, who's been cast as Bridget Von Hammersmark in a role previously thought to go to Nastassja Kinski. Kruger's not particularly well-known and her few large feature performances come from Troy and the National Treasure movies, which weren't exactly roles that made her stretch. When Quentin Tarantino decided to remake the 1977 Italian film, Inglorious Bastards, he probably had no idea how uncomfortably close to the mark that descriptor would apply to the creative process. It's been almost five yars since Quentin Tarantino first mentioned his war film Inglorious Bastards. At the time, it had a 600-page screenplay and was thought of as a possible trilogy. But Tarantino makes films at his own pace, with only six under his belt since his debut with Resevoir Dogs. Apparently something fired him up at Cannes this year, though, and he announced that Bastards would premier there next year, a claim greeted with large amounts of skepticism.... read more
