Fringe Review: "Welcome to Westfield" (Episode 4.12)

The phenomenon at the start of the show is determined to be magnetic in nature, so the team scatters to look for clues. This leaves Walter open to look for pie. With Peter and Olivia in tow, they head to the nearest town which is Westfield, population 584. The town seems friendly enough until the counterman at the diner tries to kill Walter with a butcher knife. The really creepy part is that the counterman also has two irises in each eye and doesn’t seem to know where he is half the time. read more

Slingers Sizzle Reel (Awesome of the Day)

It's not an existing TV show. It's not even a pilot. Creator Mike Sizemore is still putting the finishing touches on that, as well as starting to write the first six episodes. But there's a sizzle reel. And it looks freaking awesome. It takes place in the Swinging Sixties—2263, to be precise. With a tagline, "Getting home - one heist at a time," it looks like a futuristic Ocean's Eleven, and may be the first show set in space since Battlestar Galactica that could reach beyond a sci-fi audience if it finds the right network.... read more
