She & Him have announced A Very She & Him Christmas, a collection of — you guessed it — Christmas songs, which will be released on Merge Records. A press release for the album says it was recorded in New York and Los Angeles throughout 2011. Relying on mostly Deschanel’s voice and M. Ward on acoustic guitar, the release is minimalistic compared to their last album, Volume Two. It was inspired by Christmas albums by artists that include The Beach Boys, Elvis and the Carpenters. read more
