South Carolina country-rock duo Shovels & Rope brought a little bit of the South to New York City last night when they appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman. The twosome played the popular track “Birmingham” from their 2012 album O’ Be Joyful. Jason Isbell, Hayes Carll and Felice Brothers Take Shovels and Rope on the Road

As Shovels and Rope prepare the follow-up to 2008 self-titled effort, the folk duo of Cary Ann Hearst and Michael Trent will soon head out on a three-plus month tour throughout the U.S. and Canada. The South Carolina group plays a combination of songs written as Shovels and Ropes as well as their own solo work on tour.
