Warner Bros. Buys Script About Math Genius Who Inspired Steve Jobs

As the coverage of all things Steve Jobs-related continues, Deadline announced today that Warner Bros. bought a script about the British math genius, Alan Turing. The script was written by first time screenwriter Graham Moore and details the life of the "English mathematician, logician, cryptanalyst, computer scientist, criminally prosecuted homosexual, and tortured soul who committed suicide by eating a cyanide-laced apple has it all." The infamous apple was influenced Steve Jobs to name his company in honor of Turing.  read more

Sony Pictures Enters Negotiations For Steve Jobs' Biopic Rights

According to Deadline, Sony Pictures is in the process acquiring the film rights to Walter Isaacson's upcoming authorized Steve Jobs biography. If the negotiations go smoothly, Mark Gordon (who previously financed Saving Private Ryan and Wonder Boys) will be the producer of the biopic. The studio seems like a good choice to handle the material considering both last year's The Social Network and this year's Moneyball (both Sony Pictures films) have garnered widespread critical acclaim.  read more

In light of the news of technology visionary Steve Jobs’ passing, a number of great tributes have popped up around the web. The New York Times has an interactive chart in their Technology section that presents the majority of Jobs’ 317 patents with accompanying graphics.
