Composer Apologizes for Air Force/White Stripes Controversy
Sunday’s Super Bowl wasn’t quite as enjoyable for the White Stripes as it was for New Orleans Saints fans. The band felt that a 30-second Air Force Reserves advertisement aired during the game was awfully similar to their song “Fell in Love With a Girl,” and they expressed their frustration on their record label’s website. On the Third Man Records website, Jack White has issued a statement about the purported unauthorized use of the White Stripes’ song “Fell in Love with a Girl” in an Air Force Reserves commercial aired during the Super Bowl.
