The Hunger Games Midnight Premiere Racks in $25 Million

Suzanne Collins may not be the next J. K. Rowling with her Hunger Games trilogy, but the film version of her novel is quickly following in Harry Potter’s footsteps. Variety estimates that last night’s midnight and 3 a.m. premieres, which screened at approximately 4,100 theaters, earned between $25-30 million.  read more

The long-awaited trailer for the upcoming film The Hunger Games premiered on "Good Morning America" this morning. The film is a movie adaptation of the best-selling science fiction trilogy by Suzanne Collins about a dystopian, big-brother society that chooses a 12-18 year old child from each district to compete in a series of televised survival battle-royals called the Hunger Games until there is only 1 survivor left.   read more
