The Baseball Project Announce Tour Dates

Last month, The Baseball Project announced plans to release its second America’s-pastime-themed record, Volume 2: High and Inside, an album featuring an all-star cast of musical guests. While the group had previously revealed plans to tour through numerous Spring Training sites and SXSW, the dates have finally been revealed. The trek kicks off in Atlanta and makes it way across the Southern U.S. during the month of March....  read more

The Baseball Project Returns With New Album, All Star Lineup

Although the origins of The Baseball Project date back almost 20 years between Scott McCaughey and Steve Wynn, it was not until 2007 that the band finally came to fruition. Apparently, their collaborative debut album Vol. 1: Frozen Ropes & Dying Quails turned out nicely enough to inspire a second volume of baseball-inspired rock songs with collaborators Linda Pitmon and Peter Buck. Baseball, the pass time of America, is a whole lot of fun. It's only fitting, then, that the Baseball Project, the pass time of some of America's finest rockers, is a total party. The Baseball Project is a comprised of Steve Wynn and Linda Pitmon of Steve Wynn and the Miracle 3, Scott McCaughey of Minus 5 and R.E.M.'s Peter Buck. The band was created around its members' undying love of, yes, baseball. One song on The Project's album Volume One: Frozen Ropes and Dying Quails is even called "Ted Fucking Williams." ...  read more
