Not too long ago, we told you that R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck would be collaborating with The Decemberists for their sixth album. Now, though the band’s publicist cannot confirm a release date for the album, R.E.M.‘s official website says Colin Meloy & Co.’s next record could drop as soon as February 2011.... read more

The Decemberists just announced they will play a show April 30 at the Liberty Theater in Astoria, Oregon. The tickets range in price from $35 for floor and balcony seats to $75 for VIP tickets that include a limited-edition silkscreened poster by Decemberists illustrator Carson Ellis. All proceeds go toward Jessica Schleif, an uninsured musician and friend of the band, who was left with huge debts after a recent medical emergency.
