The tradition of the Coachella Festival in Indio, Calif. reuniting bands is now legendary. As the story goes, the festival organizers were having a hard time getting a headlining band in 2001, so they found a friend to convince Jane's Addiction to get back together and play. [Above: Jim Reid] When they recorded a new song, that was enough to start us trembling in anticipation. But a new album from the Jesus and Mary Chain brothers? That just about knocked us silly here at Paste, which is probably why it took us a week to write a news item about the announcement. Sorry about that... Anyway, as Billboard.com reported last Monday, Jim and William Reid have amassed "dozens" of songs since their headlining reunion engagement at Coachella 2007. Considering that the Reid Brothers' feud has at times reached Gallagherian proportions, it's rather impressive that they've managed their Jesus and Mary Chain reunion so well. Granted, there's been a lot more innuendo than truth surrounding the JAMC lately.
