The Roots Debut New Single

Philadelphia hip-hoppers, The Roots, will be appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live (ABC), April 21, when they debut their new single, "Don't Say Nothin'" from their seventh album, The Tipping Point. This full-length followup to The Roots' grammy- nominated Phrenology comes out June 29 on Geffen Records. The Tipping Point, says Roots drummer Ahmir Thompson, "is the sum of our six records and our 12 years as a band. The Roots' Label Looking For Talented New Artists

The Roots' label, Okayplayer Records, will expand on the band's ability to unearth some of the most unique and diverse musical talent in the country. A new Okayplayer compilation release is set for this summer and The Roots are planning to select two unsigned artists to appear on it. The submissions, which will be judged by The Roots, must be submitted via the Okayplayer website between Jan. 22 and Feb. 13.
