Staple Singers re-release Christmas album

|

Its October, which, to some, means it’s the appropriate time in the year to start shoving Christmas down your throat. And what better way to kick it off than with a holly jolly Christmas CD from an iconic group?

Actually, you grinch, this is quite exciting for fans of the soulful Staple Singers. The Chicago quartet will be re-releasing its 1962 holiday-inspired album The 25th Day of December. The record has been digitally mastered and packaged in a DigiPack with new artwork. No need to wait for their yuletide song stylings either. The album has already been released and is ready to be purchased at a local music store near you.

The Staple Singers are best known for songs such as “I’ll Take You There” and “Respect Yourself.” Their career started in the '50s, and they were inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999.

The 25th Day of December track list:
1. The Last Month Of The Year
2. The Virgin Mary Had One Son
3. Go Tell It On The Mountain
4. Joy To The World
5. Holy Unto The Lord
6. The Savior Is Born
7. Sweet Little Jesus Boy
8. No Room At The Inn
9. There Was A Star
10. O Little Town Of Bethlehem
11. Wasn't That A Mighty Day
12. Silent Night
