The twin U.K. festivals Reading and Leeds have announced their 2011 lineups, with The Strokes, Muse and My Chemical Romance to headline with Brit-pop group Pulp named as a co-headliner. As the release date of their new album approaches, The Strokes will celebrate a few days early by playing a free gig at SXSW on March 17. The show will take place in Austin, Texas at the Auditorium Shores Stage near Lady Bird Lake. According to The Strokes’ management, this show will require “no badges, no lines, no nothin’!” The concert will be filmed and aired online the next day.... read more
