The Walkmen close in on completing new album

One mere day before their tour with padawan learners White Rabbits, fresh details on The Walkmen's upcoming record have arrived to us via Billboard.com. The website reports that the group has wrapped work on nine songs for the album, with six more tunes to go. "We're all really pumped about it," frontman Hamilton Leithauser told Billboard. The Walkmen announce Spring tour

Instead of going through the usual waiting period and record company bureaucracy sometimes involved in creating a new album, the Walkmen are bringing a new batch of songs to the streets now. Recently holed up in Hoboken, N.J.’s Water Music Studio, the band has six songs recorded, or “about half” of their new album, says frontman Hamilton Leithauser.
