Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night to play a couple songs from his latest solo effort, Demolished Thoughts. The noise rock veteran performed “Circulation” on the show, complete with a violinist and harpist to back him up. Moore also performed the mellow jammer “Blood Never Lies” as a web exclusive. As if bringing just one legend on the show wasn’t enough for Fallon, Hüsker Dü’s Bob Mould also came on the show to play a short tune with The Roots and promote his new autobiography, See A Little Light....  read more

Thurston Moore corralled a pretty impressive roster of collaborators for his third album, the acoustic Demolished Thoughts. Beck produces, and he’s in full Mutations mode, creating a warm backdrop for Moore’s strummy laments. Joey Waronker drums gently when called upon, Samara Lubelski adds swirls of violins over his vocals, and Mary Lattimore punctuates these songs with graceful flourishes of harp.
