After 10 years, MTV bids adieu to TRL

Via the Associated Press, word is that TRL is shutting down operations after a final farewell episode in November. The MTV video-countdown show, which premiered in Sept. 1998 and peaked in 1999, had reasonable fame while being hosted by Carson Daly until 2003, but has recently not done as well in ratings.
