ABOUT THE ALBUM AND ARTWORK:

Umphrey’s McGee's third studio album, Safety In Numbers, will hit stores nationwide on April 4th. Produced by UM and their long-time engineer Kevin Browning, and recorded at Gravity Studios in their hometown of Chicago, IL, Safety In Numbers features 11 original songs, including favorites such as "Believe the Lie," "Women Wine and Song" and "Ocean Billy," plus several brand new originals. The album also features special guest musicians: veteran rocker Huey Lewis (vocals, harmonica) and saxophone sensation Joshua Redman.

Artwork for the recording was created by renowned album designer Storm Thorgerson (Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Mars Volta). Read the Paste article on this influential designer and "Album-Art Master"

In an effort to benefit the Eddie Hrebic Family Fund, Umphrey’s McGee today launched five special poster auctions on eBay. Hrebic, a friend of Umphrey’s, died recently of a sudden pulmonary embolism. He left behind his wife and four-month-old son.

The posters, designed by Jeff Wood of Drowning Creek Studios, are individually numbered and signed by the artist in addition to bearing the signatures of each member of the band.

Umphrey’s McGee had this to say about the auctions and their lost friend: "We are always happy to do what we can, when we can. With a little help from our fans and friends, today we have an opportunity to make a difference in one child's life. That makes today a success. "
