Quentin Tarantino Named Head Of Venice Film Festival Jury
The Venice Film Festival, held every year in September, has selected Quentin Tarantino to head this year’s festival jury. The fest gives out the Golden Lion award among other honors for filmmakers and actors. “He has become a studied and imitated ‘point of reference’, and he is perhaps the only American auteur to be adored worldwide like a rock star,” an announcement on the fest’s website gave as reasoning. “His highly original style draws dynamically from past movies, comics and popular Asian cinema, but does so to revive a taste for narrative plots, skilfully blending genre cinema and ‘pulp fiction’.”... read more
