Everything about Whitney has become shrug-worthy. There is no longer a reason to even work up the energy to bombard it with negative criticism. read more

The best thing about this week’s Whitney is that we’re one step closer to the winter hiatus and the show being shifted out of the Thursday night lineup. Even though the prestigious programming block has slipped in the past couple of years, this show is fall far below the three shows that precede it. What’s more amazing is when you consider how much the freshman sitcom has grown since its horrific beginnings. read more

Has Whitney, the character, become too unbearable? She’s provided her show, named after herself (of course) a lot of problems through the first seven episodes that overshadowed the humorous acting of Chris D’Elia (Alex) and some insanely clever jokes. That’s right: compliments for Whitney do exist. read more

Whitney slightly broke the mold this week, but it was still driven by conflict in some way or another. It seems that a week can’t go by where the group just sit at a coffee shop and have a pleasant episode or they all rally together to have some adventure. The show is supposed to be about Whitney Cumming’s experiences in relationships, and maybe she just always had terrible ones where she was constantly fighting. read more

A pattern has emerged on Whitney that can no longer be ignored. Each of the six episodes follows the same exact formula. Now, this can be mind blowing, so hold onto your seats. First we see two characters in some cutesy conversation that we can relate to and then things take a turn for the worst. read more
Found in: TV, ReviewsWhitney Review: "The Wire" (Episode 1.05)
A person that chooses to watch Whitney week after week deserves a badge of courage. Not only has the show not improved in any way, shape or form, but it quite possibly has taken a step downwards as time progressed. Whitney Cummings and her not-so-merry gang simply just agitate anyone watching. Most of the fault lies with Cummings herself. read more
Found in: TV, ReviewsWhitney Review: "Silent Treatment" (Episode 1.03)
NBC’s Whitney was officially picked up for a full season earlier this week. How exactly that happened is head-scratching considering it is one of the weakest new shows on television. Maybe NBC is desperate to prove everyone wrong; remember Seinfeld was almost cancelled after three episodes and it turned out to be the greatest show in television history. Not to say that this episode of Whitney is make or break, but the show needs to turn around if it’s going to receive a second season. read more
