Forecastle Festival 2009 Lineup Headed By Widespread, Black Crowes, Black Keys and Avetts
Besides hosting the eight-year-old annual Lebowski Fest, Louisville, Ky. also hosts the Forecastle Festival, which happens to be in its eighth year as well. The festival has just rounded up the lineup for this year's go on July 10-12. Headliners include the Black Keys, Widespread Panic, the Black Crowes and the Avett Brothers. Widespread Panic, the king of Athens, Ga.'s jam band scene, has taken its groove to New Orleans. The group is sponsoring a house in the Lower 9th Ward through The Pink Project, part of the Brad Pitt-spearheaded Make It Right Foundation. Almost done with a spring tour, Athens, Ga. jammers Widespread Panic have announced a summer tour and work on a new album. The band will head down to the Bahamas in May to record their 10th studio album with producer Terry Manning at Compass Point Recording Studios. The band plans to release the album in fall 2007 on its own Widespread Records.
