"Superman's Pal" Jimmy Olsen Rumored be Cast as Female in Man of Steel
Here’s a potential shift in the Superman universe we didn’t see coming. As Digital Spy points out, Clark Kent’s photojournalist pal at the Daily Planet, Jimmy Olsen, might have been cast as actress Rebecca Buller. Olsen originally appeared in Action Comics #6 in 1938 and would even get his own series, Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen, in 1954. The root of the rumor comes from an IMDb listing that shows Buller cast as “Jenny Olsen” with little explanation outside of that. Last night, the official Facebook page for Zach Snyder’s forthcoming Man of Steel Superman remake posted a modernized, classy photo of the superhero’s new logo. Darker than the original bright blue, yellow and red “S” and slightly more cursive looking, the emblem is very reminiscent of Christopher Nolan’s highly popularized Batman film, The Dark Knight. read more

When we reported back in March that David Fincher was reviving the Heavy Metal series, it seemed a little bit pie in the sky. Sure, it makes sense that Fincher would work on a project like that, but he's got enough other things in pre-production that it's hard to say what will ever see the light of day.
