Ah, Christmas. That magical time of year when the air is thick with snowflakes, sleigh bells and rhythm guitars. There's something to be said for consistency: Warren Haynes, of Gov't Mule fame, will be donning the mantle of ringmaster this December as usual for his annual Christmas Jam.
The Jam will, for the first time ever, span two nights in honor of the event's 20th anniversary. All proceeds will be donated to Habitat for Humanity. The event has scooped up a passel of performers as revealed in a recent press release, including the Allman Brothers Band and Gov't Mule, with more to be announced. The current confirmed acts:
Allman Brothers Band
Del McCoury Band
Derek Trucks Band
Michael Franti Acoustic Featuring Jay Bowman
Col. Bruce Hampton
Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk
Travis Tritt & Marty Stuart
The Jam takes place December 12 and 13 at the Asheville Civic Center in Asheville, N.C. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, Nov. 5.
