Gaffigan, Gondry, Wiig to fly with Conchords

Looks like the United States' most popular show about New Zealand's fourth most popular folk-parody duo is cashing in on some of the comedic capital earned by its hilarious first-season run, pulling in some pretty funny guest stars to appear throughout the show's second season.

On Feb. 8, Flight of the Conchords' Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement will be joined by Jim Gaffigan (playing a pal dragged into one of the guys' doofy squabbles), and on Feb. 22, Saturday Night Live's Kristen Wiig will trade in her baby hands for an epileptic dog (playing a gal dragged into one of the guys' doofy squabbles). Eugene Mirman will also return for a few episodes as the band's deadpan landlord.

Another episode, set to air Feb. 15, is directed by Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Be Kind Rewind), who surely made the already-bizarre storyline of Jemaine dating an Australian girl even more delightfully absurd.

The third episode of Flight of the Conchords' second season airs Sunday, Feb. 1 at 10 PM on HBO. If you missed the season premiere, no worries. Check out the full episode right here:
