M.I.A. to fill Amy Winehouse's spot at Coachella

Sri Lankan rapper/new mommy M.I.A. is set to take the stage at Coachella in place of Amy Winehouse, who was forced to cancel her festival appearance after running into roadblocks while trying to obtain a work visa.

M.I.A. will perform at the California festival on Saturday, April 18. She expressed her excitement for the festival on her Twitter page thusly: "im doing coachella mannnnnnnnnnnnn! oooooooo>>>>>>>> see yall there." Here's hoping the money she earns from her appearance at the festival will buy her a new keyboard since it appears a couple of the letters on her current one are stuck.

Other artists on the Coachella 2009 line-up include Paul McCartney, The Killers, The Cure, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Black Keys, TV on the Radio, Band of Horses and Beirut.

M.I.A.'s festival appearance comes not long after the recent birth of her son, Ikhyd. It appears that she didn't let her pregnancy or the birth of her child slow her down for even a moment, grabbing headlines back in February when she performed during the 2009 Grammy Awards on Ikhyd's due date.
