Following in the wake of bands like Grizzly Bear and Wilco, DJ collaboration Major Lazer is currently streaming its upcoming release on MySpace.
Major Lazer is a collaborative effort between two renowned DJs, Diplo, known for his work with M.I.A. and the Paper Route Gangstaz, and Switch, who has worked with Santigold.
The two ventured to Jamaica last year and returned with a slew of rasta-inspired influences, which they mixed with dancehall beats, bells and whistles, tight snare drums ("Hold The Line"), and even an Auto-Tuned baby ("Baby") on their album, Guns Don't Kill People, Lazers Do, which drops Tuesday (June 16) on Downtown Records.
Guns Don't Kill People, Lazers Do has already drawn critical acclaim for its danceable rhythms and creative approach, as well as an impressive cast of guest stars including Mr. Lex, Santigold, Nina Sky, and Blaze, among others. Major Lazer continues their summer tour with dates through September in both the United States and the UK. You can listen to the album here.
