If you dug the Killers' covers of Dire Straits, Bright Eyesor Joy Division, then good news is on the way. According to NME, the Las Vegas quartet plans to finish work on a covers album by the year's end.
"It's something that we've always talked about doing and we're still talking about," singer Brandon Flowers told NME. "It's difficult for each of us to pick songs that represent us as individuals. I mean, I have a lot of personalities myself! I've gone through everything from Neil Diamond to The Cars."
The band is currently on tour in Europe but have set up a mobile recording studio to help hash out songs that will make the final cut. Drummer Ronnie Vannucci says he already has a few artists that he's leaning toward covering on the album, including "Genesis, Tom Waits, a little Cyndi Lauper, Iggy Pop." In the interview, the drummer says he's also been recently "messing around with a couple of Fleet Foxes songs."
The group is billed to headline Lollapalooza on August 9.
