Anyone who still says rock 'n' roll is a boys club has yet to see Erika Wennerstrom of Heartless Bastards. The Ohio band's frontwoman has got pipes that could blow the door (and likely the roof and most of the paint) off said boys club without breaking a sweat. Plus, her band's powerful take on blues-rock totally kills.
But don't take our word for it:
So it only seems fitting to match Wennerstrom's low, hellish howl with a voice on the other end of the spectrum. Namely, Wolfmother's Andrew Stockdale, whose Robert Plant cries reach up to the heavens.
Although both bands inhabit different corners of blues-rock (Bastards: slow and gritty; Wolfmother: fast and flashy), they'll meet for a month-long fall tour through the US and Canada.
