For ten years, fans of The Boondock Saints have begged for the story to continue. But even with the premiere of its sequel just one week away, many of them may still not get their wish. That is, unless they demand for a screening at their local theater.
On Oct. 30, the nationwide premiere of The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day will take place in just over five dozen cities in seven states: New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Jersey, and California. Fans located anywhere between the east and west coasts will have to request a screening, either on Oct. 30 or a later date, via an official Eventful profile page.
This distribution struggle also comes more than a decade after director Troy Duffy struggled to create the first Boondocks Saints story. Just a year before its debut, he and producer Chris Brinker created the film for less than half of the $15 million they had anticipated from Miramax, before the deal fell through.
