Mattel is setting the tone for a throwback Christmas by unveiling the first looks of its “Ladies of the 80s” collection, featuring doll versions of Cyndi Lauper, Joan Jett and Debbie Harry.
A collection first announced in August, the “Ladies of the 80s” dolls will be available for purchase through select vendors. Sandi Holder’s Doll Attic, Mattel’s first ever “Dealer of the Year,” offers the Lauper doll for $35.99, as Entertainment Earth sells the Jett doll for $55.79.
The dolls encapsulate the looks the ladies donned in their prime, the Lauper doll in a modified version of her She’s So Unusual cover style, the Jett doll in head-to-almost-toe black (with red Converses) and the Harry doll with her signature blonde-on-black locks.
In the meantime, all three women are still busy today. New Moon star Kristen Stewartname-dropped Jett in the November issue of Allure (“She’s the epitome of cool. My style: t-shirts.”), People spotted Lauper on the set of Celebrity Apprentice, and Spinner reports that Harry will be collaborating with Nick Cave on a compilation interpreting unfinished songs by Gun Club founding member Jeffrey Lee Pierce.
