Alex Kapranos, frontman of the Scottish foursome Franz Ferdinand, recently told BBC 6Music that he and bandmate Nick McCarthy have been writing songs for their fourth album. It apparently will be a departure from what they’ve done in the past.
“I’ve been round at Nick’s and we’ve been writing some things, and trying to do things in a different way again,” Kapranos said. “You’ll hear it before too long.” The band is still in the early stages of working on the record, so they aren’t revealing much about the Tonight follow-up. “Before the last record, I talked far too much about it as we had the ideas, and I made a vow that I wasn’t going to say anything about what we are actually doing until we’ve done it, and then wait about another three weeks.”
