Any child (and/or Star Trek fan) of the late ‘80s/early ‘90s knows LeVar Burton. He taught us that we could fly twice as high as butterflies by taking a look, in a book, on beloved PBS show, Reading Rainbow. Burton recently tweeted some exciting news that the show, which went off the air in 2009, may be revived for a whole new generation of youngsters.
“You heard it here first… Reading Rainbow 2.0 is in th works! Stay tuned for more info,” he wrote, before getting in a quick zinger at the end. “But, you don’t have to…”
The show first aired in 1983, and in its 26 years on the air, it won a Peabody Award and 26 Emmys. At this point, there isn’t more information about the revival, but our inner children are positively squirming with anticipation.
