Used to be, in order to watch Weeds, you had to shell out some bucks and subscribe to Showtime. Not anymore. As the The Wall Street Journal reports, starting this September, those of us with basic cable will be able to watch Mary-Louise Parker in the role that won her a Golden Globe. It’s then that the show will begin airing on the TV Guide Network.
“Weeds is one of the most entertaining and original breakout comedies in recent years featuring outstanding performances by Mary-Louise Parker and the entire ensemble cast,” Diane Robina, Executive Vice President, Programming and Marketing for TV Guide Network, said in a statement. “We are thrilled to bring Weeds to basic cable on TV Guide Network, where more than 80 million viewers will finally have a chance to enjoy this highly addictive and hilarious show.” The dark comedy, whose sixth season begins this summer on Showtime, joins Curb Your Enthusiasm and Ugly Betty as part of TV Guide’s new programming lineup this fall.
