Rupert Grint gets offered “weird” film roles.
The Harry Potter star admits he is now forwarded scripts for unusual films, and has even been asked to star in a new version of The Wizard of Oz with his co-stars Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe. “At the moment I’m being offered a weird variety of roles,” Grint says. “I remember once me, Daniel and Emma were offered parts in an Australian remake of The Wizard of Oz. They wanted me as the Scarecrow, Emma was going to be Dorothy and Dan the Tin Man. I don’t know what happened to that.”
Discussing his upcoming projects 21-year-old Grint says he may be playing ski-jumper Eddie the Eagle, but confesses he knows little about the sportsman. “Eddie the Eagle actually jumped the year I was born so I have no memory of him at all although my family always talked about him,” Grint told the Daily Mirror. “It’s quite amazing what he did. If I get the part, I’m not sure how I’ll do the jumps. I’ve never skied in my life – but that might be a benefit.”
Rupert is currently filming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II, the final installment of the movie franchise, which is due for release in 2011.
